Teacher Overview

Setting up and managing learning sessions

NStrim Mission Control helps you create structured coding environments for your students — whether it's a classroom lab, homework assignment, or formal exam.

The Setup Flow

Setting up a learning environment follows three steps:

1 Create Session

The container for your learning environment

  • • Name your session
  • • Choose type (training/competition)
  • • Select available dev-ops templates
2 Add Modules

The assignments students will work on

  • • Define tasks/assignments
  • • Set time limits
  • • Attach resources (PDFs, assets)
3 Add Students

Who will participate in this session

  • • Register students
  • • Generate access codes
  • • Students access all modules
Students belong to the session and have access to all modules within it. Each student gets their own Git repository, database, and deployment URL.

Session Types

Choose the session type based on your use case:

Training Session

For classroom labs, homework, and practice

  • • Flexible timing
  • • Students can retry
  • • No strict enforcement
Competition

For exams, tests, and graded events

  • • Strict time enforcement
  • • Marking room for judges
  • • Late submissions flagged

What Happens Next

Once your session is ready:

1
Share access codes with students

Each student gets a unique 6-digit code to log into their dashboard.

2
Start a module when ready

The timer begins and students can see their tasks and start coding.

3
Monitor progress in real-time

Track deployments, online status, and time remaining from your dashboard.
